Continuity & Hope: The Journey of the American Parish and Its Future
Church musicians, please plan to join us August 5 & 6 for two packed days of inspiration, instruction, and music-making at the 4th annual Colorado Sacred Music Conference. This year’s keynote presenter is Richard J. Clark, Director of Music for the Archdiocese of Boston. Mr. Clark will talk with us on the journey of American parish in the 60 years since the end of the Second Vatican Council, and what the future may hold.
Beyond classroom presentations, we will prepare beautiful chant and polyphonic pieces for Mass and Vespers.
Special breakout sessions will include:
– Accompanying hymns and chants on the organ
– Building a choral sound through healthy vocal technique and prayerful intention
– Discerning hymn texts for use in the Mass
There will be a separate track of instruction and discussions for clergy.
We will also offer an opportunity for Eucharistic Adoration and Confession.
The schedule will be 8:00 am–8:30 pm, with regular breaks. A detailed schedule is available on the registration page.
