Here’s where you’ll find information regarding all of our upcoming retreats, conferences, and events for the year.
Welcome to Narnia! Do you long for miraculum, “wonderful amazement”, after being stuck inside for so long? This retreat will sweep you up into the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis and his fantastical representation of Christ.
We’re partnering with several other parishes throughout the Diocese of Colorado Springs to offer a virtual retreat experience for our High School students (incoming 9th-12th grade youth). To overcome the barriers posed by Covid-19, the retreat utilizes Zoom technology to present an interactive and dynamic format for home-bound high schoolers to encounter Christ. We will present youth with pre-recorded skits, talks from various Youth Ministers from the Diocese of Colorado Springs, and engaging, parish-lead small groups. Each day will end with praise and worship from a professional worship team. The retreat will occur over three two-hour sessions. Tod Masters, Youth Minister at St. Francis of Assisi in Castle Rock, will emcee. Miraculum 2020 costs $20/person which goes to cover the costs of production. Retreatants will need Zoom and internet access. Electronic retreat guide will be provided beforehand.
The Chronicles of Narnia
“Safe?… ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.'” –C.S. Lewis, The Chronicles of Narnia
According to C.S. Lewis, author of The Chronicles of Narnia, the whole Narnia story is about Christ. The central figure of the entire series, Aslan is representative of the person of Christ. Lewis offered Aslan as the as answer to the question: What would Christ, the Son of God, be like if he had been born in the land of Narnia instead of being born in Bethlehem? That very notion is made manifest throughout the entire series: as one encounters Aslan, they encounter the person of Christ in a new and powerful way.
