The School-Parish Survey is Available!

The survey concerning a new Catholic school for this area, as well as the building proposals for St. Mark parish, is now ready for you to take! Please set aside some time to take the survey using the link below. It doesn’t take that long, and your input is critical for the future of St. Mark. The survey will only be available through Sept. 23.

For New Moms in Need

Saturday, Oct. 8 at 11:00 am

You’re invited to the annual Respect Life Baby Shower! Join us for lunch, shower games, prizes, and more. Men, women, and kids of all ages are welcome. To attend, please bring a gift for a new or expecting mom in need—diapers, baby clothes, books for baby—anything you’d bring to a shower for a friend! We will be joined by special guest speaker Valerie Haas, founder of Footprints Ministry, a parish-based ministry offering support to single Catholic women facing an unexpected pregnancy. Please RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount for lunch.

Divorced or Separated?

Thursdays, Oct. 6–Dec. 22 at 7:00 pm

Starting in October, St. Mark will be hosting a Divorced and Separated Support Group for parishioners going through this difficult experience. The group will meet for 11 sessions starting Thursday, October 6 from 7:00–8:30 pm and continuing through December 22 (taking off Thanksgiving Day).

The lead group facilitator is Deacon Basil Balke, a Ruthenian Byzantine Catholic Deacon and licensed professional counselor at Mount Tabor Counseling. He is passionate about integrating the Catholic spiritual life and mental health. He will be joined by Marianne, a co-facilitator in training. See Deacon Balke’s bio here.

To ensure the efficacy of the group, space is limited and spots will go quickly. This group is intended and designed around those who have been divorced or separated for six months of longer. (Before six months, grief is often too acute for groups of this nature to be beneficial to the participant. Those needing alternative resources may contact the parish directly for more information.)

Prior to acceptance into the group, and for the good of the group, those who wish to participate must complete a check-in phone call with the group facilitator(s) to ensure that they are a good fit for the group and vice versa.

Upon acceptance into the group, there is a program expense fee of $99 for the 11 weeks. Financial assistance is available as needed.

Prayer Vigil Oct. 1

October is Respect Life Month, and to kick things off, 40 Days for Life is hosting “St. Mark on the Sidewalk,” an all-day prayer vigil on Saturday, Oct. 1 outside the Planned Parenthood facility in Littleton. Sign up to join a team and commit to a time slot to pray and be a witness for the dignity of every human life! Sign up at a table in the narthex the weekends of Sept. 17–18 and 24–25 after all Masses.

Drop by for a minute, or stay all day; the time you give is up to you! Every two hour slot is dedicated to and under the patronage of a different saint who was especially known for his or her pro-life ministry during their time on Earth. Men from the Band of Brothers and Knights of Columbus will be there to offer a protective presence during the whole day.
