What is Divine Mercy Sunday?
Divine Mercy Sunday is celebrated the Sunday after Easter. Our Lord in his apparitions to Saint Faustina Kowalska, told her that on this Feast, “the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon souls…” On May 5th, 2000, Saint John Paul II determined that “in the Roman Missal, after the title Second Sunday of Easter, there shall henceforth be added, Divine Mercy Sunday.”
