A message from our Pastor

Recently, Bishop Sheridan and Archbishop Aquila responded to the release of the CO Attorney General’s report on the Church’s sexual abuse scandal. Fr. Jim Baron has composed a very thorough explanation of this issue at the present time. While he includes a few brief points to his own parish of Holy Apostle’s Parish in Colorado Springs, his comments are applicable to all of our parishes, including St. Mark.

I want to be very clear. I share your anger, sadness and frustration at what has happened in the Church in the past. I call on all of us, starting with clergy, to pray, fast and beg God for His mercy and for His healing for anyone who, at any time, has experienced abuse in the Church. You have my solemn promise that I will always support bringing light into the darkness.

To that end, please take the time to watch Fr. Baron’s video. I am always available to meet with anyone who wishes to discuss this and especially, with anyone who is hurting about this grave issue in the Church. If you know someone who does not have access directly to email or the internet, please share this video with them as best you can.

In Christ through Mary,
Fr. Greg Bierbaum
