TONIGHT and TOMORROW! Masses for the Solemnity of The Assumption of the Virgin Mary, a Holy Day of Obligation, are as follows:
Vigil Mass Tuesday, August 14th 6:30pm
Mass Wednesday, August 15th, 8am and 7pm.

St John Damascene said the following in a homily on the Assumption in the 8th century:

“[Jesus] who had been pleased to become Incarnate from [Mary]…to become Man and to be born in the flesh…He was pleased even after her departure from life to honor her immaculate and undefiled body with incorruption.”
